My mother, Enid Le Seelleur (nee Dawson)
My name is John Le Seelleur. Having intended to look at my own family tree, I found that the Le Seelleurs had already been traced back to 1463 by others. There seems to be a gap in the knowledge about them between 1463 and 1250, so I am still researching this line, but at present I am chiefly interested in tracing my mother Enid's family, through her parents Charles Dawson (10 April 1886 - 28 January 1916) and Edith May Easingwood (23 April 1890 - 15 August 1963).
This site shows some of what I have gathered about the most recent five
generations of each of these names, with a few notes about the Great Driffield area of
Yorkshire in England, where they were based. I am quite happy for others engaged on
similar research to share this information. It's not compulsory to tell me you have done
this, but it would be nice!
Each family's page also tells you what information I have to share, and what I am looking
for.
NEW! My Notice Board is open to all as a resource, and you can now post messages directly onto it. If you need help from other family tree researchers feel free to email me, and I would also like postings from people who wish to swap information, or who are willing to help others, by looking at local records for example.
Finally, my "Tracing your Family Tree" page is intended to give you suggestions of other places of interest, both on and off line. Some are resources to help you trace your own family tree, some are of more general interest. There are also recommendations there for books and websites I have found especially useful while researching my family tree and a chance to order them and help my favourite charity at the same time!
You can move around by clicking on the navigation buttons at the bottom of each page.
I hope you enjoy browsing my site - if you have any suggestions, I'd be pleased to hear them.
No personal information about any of my living relatives appears on
this website.
