Dingeye and Thura

~~~
I always liked these two, and I'm surprised nobody else has ever tried to draw them, at least that I know of. Not even the guy who did the chapter-heading pictures in Salamandastron drew the poor creatures, so I decided "if you want something done right, do it yourself", and here they are. This is them at the Abbey, post-bath pre-Dryditch Fever. Dingeye's the one eating a mintcream wafer and making bunny ears on Thura. They struck me as the type to do that, if photos had been invented in their lifetime.They're probably too healthy-looking, but it's hard to draw an underweight stoat, because they're pretty scrawny to begin with. I'm not entirely sure why I like them so much (though I do have a thing for Comic Villain Duos in general) and I wouldn't go so far as to class them as "reformed vermin", but I never thought they were really deep-down bad - just two naive and unlucky kids with a bad upbringing in a world which apparently hated their guts. Aren't they cute? I wanna hug them, and to hell with the Dryditch Fever germs. Lord knows the poor things need all the hugs they can get.
